National News: A day before the vice presidential election, there was a lot of activity in both the ruling and opposition camps in the Parliament premises on Monday. Before the voting on Tuesday, the BJP and the INDIAA alliance held meetings with their MPs and finalized the election strategy.

PM Modi's presence in BJP's workshop

The ruling BJP organized a special workshop for its MPs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended this meeting. The voting process was explained to the MPs, and it was ensured that no technical mistake occurred during voting.

The opposition conducted mock voting

The opposition alliance INDIAA held a meeting in the presence of Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, and Akhilesh Yadav. During this, mock voting was conducted so that all the MPs could become fully familiar with the voting process.

Picture of the contest

In the election, NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan and opposition candidate, former Supreme Court judge B. Sudarshan Reddy, are face-to-face. In terms of numbers, the NDA has the upper hand, and Radhakrishnan's victory is almost certain.

Mathematics of equations

Out of a total of 788 MPs, 781 will cast their votes. NDA has 422 MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha combined. With the support of 11 MPs of YSR Congress, this figure becomes 433. On the other hand, the opposition has a total of 324 MPs. After BJD and BRS abstained from voting, the position of the opposition seems to be even weaker.

AAP's support, but apprehensions too

Despite separating from INDIA, the Aam Aadmi Party has announced it will vote in favor of Reddy. However, speculations of cross-voting by some MPs of the party are also gaining momentum in political circles.

BSP's stand is not clear

BSP has not made it clear which candidate it will support. All eyes are on which side its only Rajya Sabha MP will show his inclination. Political experts believe that its vote may go to the NDA candidate.

The result is certain, but eyes on cross voting

Analysts believe that based on the strength of the numbers, CP Radhakrishnan's victory is certain. However, how far the impact of cross-voting will go will be clear only on the election day.
